Argentine born journalist and presenter, Tamara Di Tella, M.Sc.; Ph.D. candidate, writes and gives talks on subjects related to Health and Quality of Life.

For years she was a regular feature columnist for 7 Dias Magazine and CLARIN, the largest circulation newspaper of Argentina, as well as several women’s magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Para Ti.

Tamara has authored ten books, two of which were published by Random House/Mondadori. In radio, she was the Health and Fitness columnist for “La Mañana” of Radio Continental, one of the highest rating broadcasts of Argentina.

In 2009, Comments, the American Chamber of Commerce magazine, published an article on Tamara Di Tella mentioning her creativity and capacity to innovate. The article referred to Tamara as an authority on health, fitness and the quality of life. (Comments No. 4, year 8, July 2009). Related to her innovative capacity, Tamara was the face of MAC when APPLE arrived in Argentina (Mac Station Catalogue Magazine, August 2008).

Before retiring, Tamara Di Tella was the owner and C.E.O of one of the world’s largest, International Franchised Chain of Pilates Studios with more than 65 facilities which operated in the 5 corners of the world: America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.

Social Responsibility

In the year 2004, Tamara’s company donated a Rehabilitation Ward to a public hospital to work with patients with motor dysfunctions and restrictions in their movement. It was in that hospital ward that Tamara created her own method –TANGOLATES™– which was presented at the 10th International Congress of Medicine held in Buenos Aires, as well as various U.S Fitness Conventions.

An advance on the research of the Tamara Di Tella Method –TANGOLATES™—has also been published in the Official Newsletter of the World’s Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization.

In the United States, Tamara Di Tella became a member of the International Director’s Program of IDEA, the oldest Federation of Health and Fitness of the United States, as well as an associate Member of IHRSA, (International Health and Racquet Association) Boston, USA. In Europe, Tamara Di Tella is an associated member of the Federation of Pilates of Spain, the official sponsor of the Olympic Games.

Tamara Di Tella is married and has two children. Carolina, who is a PhD candidate at N.Y.U in Neuroscience; and Sebastian, young professor of Economics at Stanford University. Tamara lives in Rome with her husband, Torcuato Di Tella, who is a renowned social scientist and university professor who has taught at Berkeley, Columbia, and Stanford universities, among others.  Author of many books, Tamara’s husband is now Ambassador of Argentina to Italy (2010-2015).
